Dr. Duan currently serves as the Director of the Reference Laboratory of the Rotavirus, the Western Pacific Region of the World Health Organization, and Chairman of the 1stYoung Committee affiliated to the Virology Specialized Committee, and Member for the Chinese Health Quarantine Committee. He mainly engages in the research of viral diarrhea, as well as its prevention and control. Dr. Duan is in charge of the sentinel surveillance network for viral diarrhea in China. He published more than 80 SCI papers from his research area, and conducted a series of national and international projects. In 2008, he was awarded the advanced individual for the combating the quake and carrying out relief work , and in 2010, was awarded the first Youth May Fourth Medal of central state organs , in 2013, was awarded the thirteenth China Youth Science and Technology Award. |
