Dr. Yin is the director of the National Immunization Program in China CDC engaged in vaccine preventable diseases surveillance and vaccination strategy research. He is currently the Deputy Leader of the National Immunization Technical Working Groups of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the Deputy Chairman of the Vaccine and Immunization Branch, the Biological Products Branch and the Vaccine Clinical Research Special Committee of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, the Standing Editor of the Chinese Journal of Vaccines and Immunization, and the Editorial Board of the Journal of Practical Preventive Medicine, and China CDC Weekly. He is currently a member of the COVID-19 Vaccine Working Group of the WHO Strategic Advisory Committee on Immunization (SAGE) and a former member of the Japanese Encephalitis Vaccine Working Group of SAGE.

In charge of all aspects of maintaining polio-free in China related to the National Immunization Program related to surveillance, vaccination, and outbreak response. Coordinated with Ministry of Health in 2016 to initiate an integrated plan for poliovirus containment. 

Conducts evaluation and research for future polio vaccination schedules after global polio eradication, which is necessary as the Polio Vaccines Technical Workgroup of the National Immunization Program collects evidence and supports the National Immunization Advisory Committee (China’s NITAG) evidence-based recommendations for immunization policy.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, he was mainly engaged in the research on the immunization strategy of COVID-19 vaccine, as well as the effectiveness and safety of the COVID-19 vaccines in the real world and carried out a series of immunogenicity and effectiveness studies in China.
